Here at Sankofa Athletics, we are dedicated to providing our customers with quality athleisure wear while accessorizing at an affordable price. In addition to our captivatingly, comfortable threads, it is important for our customers to feel the purpose behind our apparel: Community, Inclusivity, Creative Expression, and Humanitarian Effort.
All of our products are designed in Atlanta GA and beautifully handcrafted by our skilled team of seamstresses. We work hands-on with our team to choose first-rate fabrics and luxurious textiles that ensure our items are ready-to-wear, comfortable, and athlete tested. We pride ourselves on our high quality apparel for athletes and nonathletes alike.
WHO WE ARE
Sankofa Athletics, LLC was founded in 2019 in Los Angeles, CA. We are a brand that stands in the name of unity, leadership, and mastery. The term “Sankofa” originates from the Akan people of Ghana and the logo is an interpretation of an Adinkra symbol known as Sankofa.

Sankofa’s distinctive logo is designed as a backward facing bird signifying the importance of looking to the past and the centering egg carries the meaning useful knowledge. Altogether, looking to the past in order to retrieve useful knowledge is our driving force for carving a better future and honoring the wondrous legacy of our predecessor.

My Story...
My inspiration to create an athleisure apparel brand that is African inspired, consciously forward, and that promotes unity. Stems from my appreciation of fitness, the importance of living a health conscious lifestyle, and intertwining community activism within the brand. My inspiration is also rooted in my desire to bring an athleisure apparel line to athletes/non-athletes that is a reflection of US, that inspires US, and ultimately unites US.
